Financial investigative firm offers new e-discovery platform
TORONTO---Froese Forensic Partners Ltd. has a new, state-of-the-art e-Discovery software that's cost-effective, secure, hosted locally and far more efficient, the company says
FFP, one of Canada's largest independent financial investigative firms, has acquired the licensing rights to Viewpoint™, an all-inclusive e-Discovery platform developed by software leader Lateral Data. This advanced software is now the core application for FFP's e-Discovery solutions.
A legal services company developed Viewpoint™ over a seven-year period of real-world use, giving it significant advantages in both core and convenience features over products developed by software companies not in the legal profession.
"One of the most important attributes of Viewpoint is that it delivers all e-Discovery tasks in one single and incredibly efficient package," said Kevin Lo, a Managing Director of Froese Forensic Partners and the head of its electronic discovery and computer forensics practice.
Equipped with Viewpoint, FFP can fully facilitate all major components of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) spectrum as one complete solution, including collection and preservation of data, pre-processing, full processing, analysis, review and production.
Featuring a familiar Outlook-style interface, Viewpoint can execute tasks at speeds two to five times that of other leading platforms. In a single package, it delivers all the e-discovery tasks the clients need, enabling the client to do more in an efficient manner. Furthermore, Viewpoint offers advance features such as conceptual analysis and email thread management.
"Viewpoint gives us the horsepower to compete effectively, without purchasing an entire collection of more limited applications," Lo said. "It's designed at the right level for our firm."
FFP is dedicated exclusively to providing expert opinion reports and testimony in matters such as computer forensics and electronic discovery, forensic accounting, fraud and financial investigations, financial damages, corporate investigations and business valuation.
Since it became an independent company in 2009, FFP has sought a durable, defensible, accurate and cost-effective technology base for its e-Discovery division. "We first became aware of Viewpoint at LegalTech New York last year," said Lo. "After spending time learning about the platform, we tried it out and became convinced it had the power to drive our entire e-Discovery practice."
